2008 Lake County Petite Sirah, Oak Cliff Cellars WINEMAKER’S NOTES: If you liked the '07 Petite Sirah, you'll fall head over heels with the '08! This plummy, deep purple wine has seductive nose of violets and a delicious flavor profile of boysenberries, blueberries and blackberries -- with dark chocolate notes on the finish. This wine is big enough to stand up to pork, game or beef, but soft enough to pair with salmon, chocolate or mixed berries. Still a very young wine, our '08 Petite Sirah will age for several years and only get more velvety in the process. Only 71 cases made. We think this is the wine for chocolate. Distinct floral and red fruit aromas meld in to subtle coffee and dark chocolate flavors which linger on the finish. Beautiful!
